Motor vehicle registration will allow an applicant to voluntarily indicate that the applicant has been diagnosed with, or is the parent or legal guardian of a child or ward who has been diagnosed with, certain specified disabilities or disorders. The SAFE designation will be used so that communication awareness can be established when interacting with law enforcement or first responders in an emergency or crisis situation to receive immediate and appropriate assistance. The motor vehicle record will not include information about that person's specific disability or disorder diagnosis. If the SAFE designation is requested,Form 72120 (www.flhsmv.gov/pdf/forms/72120.pdf) form must be completed by applicant and a physician.
